'Innovation starts from nature'. This is the cardinal principle of the philosophy of the Caleffi family that, through the proposal of a new wine experience, is revisiting the concept of sustainable agricultural enterprise, where tradition and innovation coexist harmoniously in a tongue of land that belonged to the historic princely Gonzaga family, on the border between the provinces of Mantua and Cremona. Bearing witness to the family's ancient bond with its land, the company traces its roots devoted to agriculture and livestock breeding back to the early 20th century, adding viticulture to them from the 1950s onwards. The path of valorising indigenous terroirs, to which it applies the knowledge of the past in a modern key, led it to found a new winery in 2018.

"The essence of the experience and insights encapsulated in the glasses is aimed at elevating the particularities of the grape varieties that are vinified in purity using the ancestral method. Respect for nature and vinification times, the careful selection of grapes and the delicacy in preserving their intrinsic characteristics to achieve excellence in every single bottle, are the deepest values that guide us,' say Davide and Emanuele Caleffi, who have created a reality that extends over 8 hectares of vineyards and a niche production of sparkling and still ancestral wines of around 36,000 bottles per year.

"An ecosystem in which, in concert with our partners ranging from food and wine to culture and art, it is possible to experience exclusive moments linked to this wonderful world. The elegance of authentic wines, which accompany the finest culinary experiences and support the highest expressions of food and wine talent, has also been chosen by prestigious Michelin-starred chefs and restaurants and is recognised by the most important wine guides such as Viniplus, Slow Wine and Veronelli.

The winery's mission is to bring prestige to a type of wine, Lambrusco, defined by Wine Enthusiast, one of the most authoritative international wine magazines, as "one of the most intriguing wines in the world". In fact, the Territori del Lambrusco are nominated in the Wine Star Awards 2023 as the only Italian winery in nomination in the Wine Region of the Year category, vying for the title with four other international wine-growing areas.
